The social project in the north of Nicaragua is about a healthy lifestyle, reducing drug use and violence, as well as suicide among young people and children in villages where Soppexcca works as a partner organization. The work is implemented through social pedagogical measures and a holistic development to promote behavioral change, to improve self-esteem and to enable social inclusion in their communities.
The aim of this activity is to carry out sports activities with children and young people. It means especially tournaments in football, volleyball, basketball or chess, which take place in La Paz del Tuma in a training center. The project encompasses some 200 children and young people from the poor communities near Jinotega, which are located in the area of the influence of UCA Soppexcca.
The project aims to provide five cooperatives with sports equipment. Sporting goods are bought for example for football, basketball and volleyball, and cups and medals can be purchased for tournaments. It will benefit from the donation young people and children from the communities of La Paz del Tuma, Sierras Morenas, El Salto, Finca Corinto and Los Cerrones.
