Potsdam has the most foundations in all of East Germany. The federal state of Brandenburg, however, remains the backdrop all over Germany, according to the article of the newspaper Potsdamer Neueste Nachrichten (PNN) from 30.09.2017.
Potsdam is the east-German city with the most foundations in relation to its population. In a ranking of the cities with most of foundations Potsdam has the 36th place in Germany and is ranked in front of Berlin (51th position of rank). This was announced by the Federation of German Foundations (Bundesverband Deutsche Stiftungen) in a statistical evaluation in the run-up to the European Day of Foundations on 1th October.
55 Foundations of civil law are therefore in Potsdam, more than half of Potsdam’s foundations are committed to social concerns. We like a family foundation are part of it.
