Education is the formation of people in terms of his “personhood”, that means to get a personality that is characterized by special mental, physical, social and cultural characteristics. The access to education is a human right under Article 26 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations of 10 December 1948.

To give everyone access to adequate education means reducing social inequalities and developing a society. Unfortunately, the access to education is often denied in many countries because a critical and educated person is seen by the elite as an attack on the existing order.

We as Foundation “For the South – Foundation of the Raschke Family” see education as an elementary component of a progressive, just and social world and have already made our contribution in various projects, such as supporting libraries or schools in different countries.
