Project information:

We, as “For the South – Foundation of the Raschke Family” support this year a project of culture of remembrance (cultural memory) with the associated organization CERSUR in Colombia. The peace talks between the FARC and the Colombian government have been successfully concluded this year. An elementary factor in peacebuilding is the analysis of history, reconciliation and memory. In Colombia many projects of cultural memory have been established by civil society. Also ex-guerrillas and local people from different regions contribute their part to the truth and history of the conflict. Provinces affected by the conflict are for example Caquetá and Meta. Amongst others, the “El Pato” agricultural protection zone, in which a local museum of memory culture is planned, is located there. A goal to reach the end (a museum) will be an exhibition that describes the lives of peasants and ex-guerrilla fighters through pictures, videos, interviews or exhibits.
